Dots & Boxes - A New Era is a modern reinvention of the classic pencil-and-paper game, elevated into a vibrant, competitive multiplayer experience. The game combines timeless board game mechanics with contemporary design, featuring multiple themed arenas—each with unique visual styles and exclusive gameplay mechanics. Players strategically draw lines to complete boxes while competing against friends or intelligent AI opponents in real-time multiplayer sessions.
The game is powered by a sophisticated power-up system that transforms traditional gameplay into dynamic, unpredictable encounters. With 15+ distinct power-ups including TNT explosions, skull-based mechanics, dominoes, shields, and more, every match offers fresh strategic possibilities. The title features a progression system that unlocks new arenas as players reach mastery milestones, culminating in an exclusive Master Rank tier with unique challenges and rewards. Every arena is meticulously crafted with synchronized animations, particle effects, and audio design that reacts to gameplay in real-time.

Arena Development & Mechanics: Built the Canada and Mexico arenas from scratch—implementing features like directional path logic, particle-trail score shuffles, and target-seeking TNT rocket sequences—while extending the Rome arena for multi-turtle synchronization and stabilizing gameplay across five other regional arenas.
Authentication & User Accounts: Designed a cross-platform authentication system integrating with Unity for Guest, Google Play Games, Apple, and Facebook logins, featuring secure token verification, account linking/unlinking, force logouts, and cached-ID data persistence to prevent loss during uninstalls.
Complete Audio Pipeline: Engineered the entire audio architecture from scratch across all gameplay, onboarding, and UI flows—synchronizing SFX and music cues directly with Spine animation callbacks, adding multi-language voice-over support, and optimizing mobile battery efficiency.
Arena Progression & Master Rank: Implemented a dynamic progression system featuring master rank unlock animations, adaptive gallery layouts, win/loss trophy tracking per arena, legends legacy status badges, reward mappings, and an expandable framework for future post-master content.
AppsFlyer Analytics Integration: Integrated the AppsFlyer SDK across iOS and Android, handling iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permissions, non-organic install tracking via custom deep links, SKAdNetwork privacy postbacks, and resolving iOS dSYM generation bugs for crash reporting.
Multiple Tap Prevention System: Engineered a comprehensive input-blocking system across all game screens, shop purchases, and IAP flows to eliminate rapid-tap race conditions that previously caused blank screens or frozen input states.
Real-Time Reconnection & Synchronization: Developed a real-time animation synchronization algorithm that calculates out-of-game time offsets during network drops, accurately resuming complex board animations (like TNT and Skull movements) at the exact correct frame upon reconnection.
Bug Fixing & Performance: Resolved critical gameplay and engine issues, including multi-box score calculation errors, input blocks during IAPs, backend synchronization race conditions, memory leaks on low-end devices, and modern Android 16KB page size compatibility requirements.
